It's a good day, went to the YMCA this morning and had a good work out in the pool, went and got my hair cut, had a friend for lunch and then Susie came down and we played a couple games of 10,000.  Then I took a hour nap and then put some chicken in the oven and now, here I am.

Watercolor Pictures

Friday March 27, 2015

I'm going to try this again, I posted some things last week but I guess I didn't publish them.
Well before I started sewing again I was into ceramics for many years then I became allergic to the dust and paints so I gave up that hobby.  I tried organ lessons that didn't work out, I went into real estate, that didn't work out, then I went to work at a real job driving a school bus and a highway coach for almost 18 years traveling the US and Canada, I truly loved that job but then the company closed.
I was a single woman the last 15 years of my driving job raising my girls.  Well skipping ahead to my endeavors I took some watercolor classes of which I thoroughly enjoyed but I was so frustrated and eventually I gave that up.  But I do have a few pictures to show you.

This is a picture of my daughters barn that burned down.

A little bit of my background

March 13, 2015

Sewing is now my passion.  I started sewing back in high school.  Back then sewing was a requirement and I don't remember if I liked it or not.  I did not continue to sew for many years and then after I had my girls I thought I would try again, unfortunately I still couldn't read a pattern and I was not very successful with my endeavors on the machine.
Here we are today some 50 years later and I  got interested in sewing again after watching my girlfriend (we'll call her B). making a purse, well of course I had to try that.  I successfully made this nice handbag.  I was so delighted I went out and bought a new sewing machine.
Well, I am really getting into the knack of sewing now and made my son-in-law  apron,  I thought it should have his name on it so my other friend Judy has an embroidery machine so she agreed to embroider his name on the apron.  I sat and watched with such intense as this machine did this delicate work.  That did it for me, I went out to find an embroidery machine.  I traded my new Janome in for the Brother embroidery machine.  Bank loan and all.
This is how I got started and now I'm like a kid in a candy shop.  So many patterns and so much fabric where do I begin.  I'm going to end this post for now but I'll be back later.
